Eileen Maria Horgan, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and music teacher, died on Saturday, December 16, 2017. Eileen was born in Cork, Ireland in 1953 to Elizabeth and Christopher Healy. She was a gifted young pianist and tenured faculty at the Cork School of Music as a young adult. She and her husband, Gerard (""Ger""), were married for 43 years and immigrated to Denver in 1986. In Denver, Eileen devoted herself to raising her four daughters, sharing her love of music with countless piano students, volunteering extensively with the homeless and poor, cultivating many meaningful friendships, and doting on her grandchildren. She was well known for her warmth, generosity, and good conversation over a strong cup of Irish tea and homemade scones. She remained very connected to her homeland and enjoyed summers in Clare, Ireland. Eileen will be missed tremendously by her husband Ger; daughters Rhian, Niamh, Fiona, and Carys; grandchildren Ainsley, Anthony, Georgina, and James; and siblings Breed, Elizabeth, and Maurice. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 10:00AM at Risen Christ Catholic Church, 3060 S. Monaco Pkwy., Denver. A Wake will immediately follow at the family's residence.
