Eileen N. Maresh

September 15, 1921 — July 24, 2010

Eileen Elizabeth Nugent Maresh passed away peacefully on July 24 into God's loving arms. Born September 15, 1921, in Norwood Massachusetts, she lived a rich and faith-filled life as an amazing woman, wife, mother, aunt, friend and devoted member of her church community, St. James Catholic Church. She attended St. Catherine's School in Norwood, Norwood High and Mary Brooks College before going to work at the Boston City Hospital as a medical technologist. There she met and later married the love of her life Dr. George Maresh, with whom she had a long and loving marriage until his death in 1987. She was a remarkable musician, using her talents for the enjoyment of family and friends, and playing the chruch organ for over seventy years. Eileen was honored by the St. Cecelia award given for her dedicated service to the church, especially the St. James choir and the music ministry at St. James Parish. She was full of life, love, joy, generosity, spirit and faith, active in family and church until recent health concerns intervened. She was proceded in death by her parents, James and Emma Dower Nugent, as well as by her husband George. A much beloved mother, Eileen is survived by her seven children, Ellen (Janet), Ann (Tom) Troy, Sally Maresh, Susan (Jeff) Mountjoy, George, Mary and Bill (Becky) and grandchildren Scott (Tori), Sarah, Steven Troy, Ben Mountjoy, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and her brother James Nugent. She will be remembered by her dear ones for her zest for life and loving care of those in her midst, her quick wit and delightful sence of humor, her enjoyment of good times and will be missed at every moment where love and faith are present. We know she is at last at peace, yet with us still as our wonderful, devoted, joyous Mom, Eileen.
