Eleanor Mardell Caldwell

September 18, 1922 — February 6, 2015

Eleanor Mardell Caldwell, 92, of Thornton was born Sept 18, 1922 in Great Falls, MT. She married Jack Caldwell on April 3, 1943 at Santa Ana Army Air Base, CA. She was a land secretary for Union Oil Company in MT from 1946-1948. She and her husband moved to CO for her health in 1951. She worked for Conoco as a land secretary and also in the Crude Oil Trading Dept from 1970 until her retirement in 1985. In 1981 she became Secretary for Concerned Citizens of Thornton to help promote landscaping the rights of way of original Thornton as well other beautification projects throughout the city. She enjoyed traveling, bridge and being a housewife. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Caldwell, her sister Lucille Medvec and brother-in-law Andrew N. Medvec of Great Falls, MT, and sister-in-law Doris Fletcher of Modesto, CA. Survivors include her aunt Lucille Haldeman of Allyn, WA and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and many dear friends. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 9371 Wigham Street, Thornton, CO 80229. A private family burial will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Holy Cross Catholic Church or Mile Hi Humane Society, 11470 York St, Thornton, CO 80233.
