Ellen MacDonald

Ellen Elizabeth MacDonald, 59, of Highlands Ranch, CO passed away Sunday, August 10th, 2014 after a two and half year battle with cancer. Ellen was born in Rumford, Maine on March 25th, 1955. The daughter of Raymond Rafuse and Violet Gautreau, Ellen has 5 brothers and sisters. She married her high school sweetheart, Peter J. MacDonald, to whom she was a devoted wife and best friend for 40 years. Ellen was a beloved mother, best friend, and confidant to Kari L. MacDonald, Peter and Ellen's only child. Throughout her battle with ovarian and uterine cancer, Ellen's strong spirit, strength, and courage showed her true nature as a fighter. Ellen will always be remembered for her determination and upbeat personality that brought hope and strength to those around her. Ellen's family is incredibly proud of the resilience she showed during this battle, and is forever grateful for the close bonds they shared. Ellen will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and sister, and will be missed dearly. She is survived by her husband, Peter MacDonald; her daughter, Kari MacDonald; Richard Rafuse (brother); Terry Rafuse (brother); Gail Cohlosey (sister); Jane Puiia (sister); and Peter Gautreau (brother).
