Elmer Broneske

Elmer, 86, of Denver, Colorado was born in Max, North Dakota to the late Andrew Broneske and the late Marie Roth Broneske. He attended a country school in Turtle Lake, North Dakota until the eighth grade. Elmer worked in the coal mines until being drafted in the Army at age eighteen for three years. He worked as a hired man for many farmers until he married Erma Rasmussen on October 20, 1948, where they farmed in Turtle Lake until they moved to Denver, Colorado in 1957. Elmer worked construction till retirement in 1983. Elmer and Erma traveled to several states to attend the 69th Infantry Reunions. He enjoyed walking several miles a day and visiting with several people. Elmer will be missed and is survived by his wife Erma of 63 years. He is also survived by his daughters, Barbara Jeane and her husband Calvin Schell of Bismarck, North Dakota; and Sharon Hazel and her husband Dale Sparks of Denver, Colorado. He is survived by his grandchildren, Chrissy Nelson, Melissa Schell and Rebecca Schell from Bismarck, North Dakota. His great grandchildren are Jessica Schell, Alex Sparks, Kevin Bontrager, Isaac Schell, Zach Sparks-Heinz and Ethan Sparks-Heinz. Elmer is preceded in death by granddaughter, Kelly Sparks-Heinz and great granddaughter, Alysha Marie Vetter. He is also, proceeded in death by three sisters and three brothers.
