Elvera Panola – Passed peacefully on July 5 at the age of 96. Preceded in death by her husband George in 1990. Survived by daughter Jan (Tom) Sevier of Lakewood; grandson Ryan (Mandy) Sevier, great grandchildren Carter, Griffin, and Cora; grandson Rob Sevier, great grandchildren Allie and Brock; grandson Chris (Laura) Mangers, great grandsons Marek and Maddox; granddaughter Holly Schlachter, great granddaughter Izzy. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving daughter Barbara Decker and great grandson Christopher Jr. Schlachter, as well as all 15 of her siblings.
Elvera was born in Crested Butte, CO, and moved to Denver with her family as a young woman, where she met George while waiting tables at her first job in Denver. She was a wonderful homemaker and mother. She and George threw many pool parties in their backyard that extended family and friends will remember as legendary.
A service will be held at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home (3101 S Wadsworth Blvd, Lakewood) on Tuesday, July 11 beginning with a Receitation of the Rosary at 3 pm and followed by a Funeral Service at 4 pm.
She will always be remembered as a sassy, spunky, hilarious mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend, whose greatest passion was caring for others.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Elvera's name to Collier Hopice Center.
