Emily Joan Kelty

Emily Joan Kelty, born in Bedford Indiana on November 27, 1936, passed away peacefully in the bosom of her family on January 28, 2014. Joan is preceded in death by her husband Edward and is survived by her brother Carl ""Pudg"" Benham, and her children Jenny (and Matthew) Spampinato, Ellen (and Tony Chilelli) and John (and Julie) Kelty, and seven grandchildren. A graduate of Bedford High School in Indiana, and holding a nursing degree from Indiana University, Joan moved to Denver in 1958 to work at Children's Hospital. She soon met the love of her life, Edward Kelty, and they were wed on June 1st, 1959, and later settled in their home of 44 years in University Hills. Joan's golden years were spent doting on her grandchildren Natalia, Patrick, Brendan, Leanna, Sean, Alexander, and Daniel, and enjoying the good life with her husband of 52 years, Edward. As an avid Broncos fan, Joan was delighted with their success this year, and spent every Sunday cheering on Orange and Blue with her family. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at 10:00 AM, at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, 2200 S. Harrison St., in Denver. Following a reception at the church committal will take place at Rocky Mountain Memorial Park, Aurora.
