Emma Rose Valish, 99, passed away August 11, 2010 in Aurora, Colorado. She was born September 2, 1910, in Howells, Nebraska to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kment. Emma was preceded in death by her husband, James George Valish on December 3, 1983. She is survived by two children: Janis Ann Bowers (husband, Keith), of Aurora, CO; Marvin J Valish (wife, Aurora), of Chevy Chase, MD; three granddaughters, eight great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Irene Gobler, of Schuyler, Nebraska. Emma was also preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. Emma was a member of the Belle Rebekah Lodge #303, in Omaha, Nebraska for many years. Prior to moving to Colorado, Emma lived in Chevy Chase, MD. For 10 years with her son and daughter-in-law, Keith & Aurora Valish. Together they became world travelers, traveling on six cruises, including both regular and Trans Atlantic cruises. Emma enjoyed every minute of them! She had the opportunity to be in South America, visiting Chile, Argentina and Brazil; then to the Caribbean Islands, Haiti, Jamaica, Mexico to Paris, London, Greece, Iceland, and then to the United Arab Emirates. On this Continent she visited Canada, going to Nova Scotia, St. John, New Brunswick and Vancouver; and then in the U.S. to Alaska, the New England States, and in California she visited Yosemite National Park. Emma had beautiful clothes and dressed to the nine. On a formal night on cruises, she would dance and flirt with some of the older, retired handsome men. Emma also was able to visit the HOLY LANDâ¦Jerusalem, Bethlehem, the Sea of Galilee, the Dead Sea, and other parts of Israel. She witnessed real baptisms in the Jordan River. While living in Maryland, she also enjoyed the trips to New York City, seeing plays and riding the subway. A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 23, 2010, 11:00am, at the Schuyler Cemetery.
