Eric Steven Suit

January 13, 1965 — December 19, 2009

Eric Steven Suit was born in St. Charles, Missouri beginning a life of travel, adventure and education. Raised near Atlanta, Georgia and Wichita, Kansas, he developed a kinship with the creatures, stargazing, and feeling the warmth of the sun while spending his early childhood on a Kansas farm with his Mom and stepfather. Celebrating his 17th birthday on a trip to Israel and Egypt with his Father and stepmother sparked a love of archaeology and spawned a life long journey of studying science and history. A master carpenter, he created beautiful bookcases, designed dollhouses and decorative pieces, claiming he had sawdust in his blood. Marrying Dimple McClure on August 14, 1988 began a new adventure. Combining his love of history and science with hers of literature and writing, they traveled to exciting locations turning dreams to realities. Special moments of laughter among ruins, in museums, on hikes, and trading of poems and stories will warm Dimple in the days ahead. Fondly remembering Paris, Ireland, Mexico, a multitude of National Parks coast to coast and Hawaii and Alaska, holidays and anniversaries spent in wonderful places will be a comfort to Dimple as those dates come and go in the year ahead. Relocating to Colorado in January 1995, Eric found hiking, walking, and exploring in a completely new world. Eric loved the animals, especially Jake- dog. He fed the birds regularly, enjoyed watching wild life, and always had his binoculars and camera at the ready. A voracious reader, he devoured science fiction and adventure novels. He was reading Tarzan when others his age focused on Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew. His favorite movies were space adventures or of a possible future. Anything with John Wayne, all action movies, occasional comedies and animated features along with popcorn were evening entertainment. His favorite music classic rock, blues, and classical are known well throughout the neighborhood. Eric could have been a great announcer or an actor for he could imitate voices of many famous personalities. His whistle always on key, and music filled his life, if he wasn't whistling, he was singing, and singing with him in harmony will be some of Dimple's fondest memories. Eric was a multi-faceted and gifted man. A simple man with complex intellect and many talents, few knew him as the comedic and seriously devoted person he was. Unrealized dreams remained for a life much too short. His fondest wish would be for all people to live their dreams and be at peace. His generosity of spirit and love of life will be a legacy that lives on in the hearts and memories of all he touched. Officiated by Dr. Allan Karr, a memorial service to celebrate Eric's life will be held at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 East County Line Road (just one block to the west of Holly Street), in Centennial, Colorado at 10:00 am on Tuesday, December 22, 2009. All those who wish to do so are invited to share in this celebration. In lieu of flowers, the family has established the Eric Suit Memorial Fund. Contributions can be made c/o Addison Avenue FCU, 9127 South Jamaica Street, East Building, Englewood, Colorado 80112.
