Erik G. Winslett had a lifelong passion for organization, and he was exceptional at doing it. So much so, that he obtained a Professional Advanced International Organizing, Design and Staging degree from the “QC Professional School of Design.” He would practice a lot starting as a teenager and beyond! He excelled at consistently re-organizing his mother’s Tupperware cupboard and pantries to ensure anything expired was removed immediately and there were always matching lids to go with the containers! He was very precise in his organizational approach. He was excited about what his organizational future would bring,
His passion also extended to music, cooking, and travel. Music was a big part of his life from the time he was a young child, and he was an incredible dancer. He was often heard to say to family members “You’ve got to hear this song” and he quickly shared the song with them. Erik was best known for his kind, loving and empathetic heart. He was a gentle man with an infectious smile, and his incredible sense of humor, including his one-liners that would light up the room.
Erik loved to cook and was great at it. His meals were hearty and often were comfort food to others. Whenever possible he would manage to add in Mac-N-Cheese since that had been a favorite of his since he was a boy. His desire to travel had recently developed into international travel. He had gone to Ireland for his 35th birthday and was already planning a trip to Scotland for his 40th birthday.
Erik is survived by his immediate family: his Father and Mother Les H. Winslett of Broomfield CO, Jorja M. Winslett of Arvada CO, his sister’s Heather Winslett (+ Rebecca Jean) Broomfield, Mary Winslett (+David Hickey) Broomfield, Pam Waterman (+Nathaniel Waterman) Grand Junction, CO, Nieces and Nephews: Katelyn Hickey Broomfield- CO, Katie Cannon- Broomfield -, CO, Dylan Cannon- Broomfield- CO, Wyatt Waterman-Grand Junction -CO. As well as numerous Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins across multiple states. In addition, he had a significant number of friends.
