Erma June Roberts Hardenbrook, 82 of Thornton, Colorado, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, March 23, 2014. Erma was born east of Beaver City, Nebraska on her parents' farm June 30, 1931 to Clyde and Mary Roberts. She was one of 7 children. She attended grades 1-8 at a country school. Her parents moved to Edison, Nebraska and she completed her high school education there graduating salutatorian of her class May of 1949. She married Robert Hardenbrook in January of 1949 before Bob left for the army. After she graduated in May she joined Bob in Newport News, Virginia. To this union were born four children, Becky, Dixie, Colleen and Fred. After Bob left the service they made in Holdrege, Nebraska, moving to Denver in 1955 where she resided until her death. She worked for John Morell in Denver for many years. She and her husband owned and operated the Dairy Queen in Denver for many years. Survivors include her husband Bob of Thornton, Colorado; three daughters, Becky Boyle of Seattle, Washington, Dixie Ing of Thornton, Colorado, Colleen Hightower of Las Vegas, Nevada and one son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Valerie Hardenbrook of Las Vegas, Nevada; eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren; one sister Wanda Shackleton and her husband Bill of Grand Island, Nebraska and one sister-in-law, Edith Roberts of Berthoud, Colorado and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Mary Roberts; one sister and brother-in-law, Bertha and Stanley Shrauger; two brothers Merle and Dean Roberts; sister-in-law Joyce Roberts; and one niece and one nephew. Memorial Service is Saturday, March 29 at 11:00a.m., Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 7577 West 80th Avenue in Arvada. Interment Monday, March 31 at 12:00p.m., Fort Logan National Cemetery.
