Ernestine A. Garcia

September 28, 1938 — June 15, 2017

Ernestine (Erni) of Northglenn, passed away June 15, 2017 after a long hard-fought battle with Lupus. She was preceded in death by her son Damian. She leaves her loving husband David, her son Dave, brothers Rudy, Ruben, and sister Virginia, three grandsons, one great-granddaughter, and extended family and friends. Erni attended East, and Manuel High schools, and Front Range Community College. Her career was in the field of caring for elderly, and spanned several occupations ranging from Volunteer to Social Services Coordinator. Erni loved serving the elderly and was well loved by them and their families in return. Erni was a Lifetime member of the Colorado Activity Professionals Association (CAPA) and served several positions on its Board. In 2003 she was awarded the prestigious CAPA ""Our Pack"" award given to individuals in recognition of outstanding contributions in the field of aging and senior activities. She retired in 2008 due to Lupus related illness. Erni had a charismatic personality and a dazzling smile that endeared her to everyone she met. Erni was a beautiful both inside and out. She had a wisdom that caused both family and friends to seek her advice in times of need. She was the guiding light that held our family together, and she will be greatly missed. A visitation will be held in her honor on Friday 6/23, 6-8pm Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Northglenn. Funeral Mass Saturday 6/24, 10am Immaculate Heart. Graveside service following Mass at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Reception 1:30pm also at Immaculate Heart. Please share memories and condolences with the family in the guestbook below.
