Ernie Dorrance

Ernest (Ernie) Dorrance 85, born November 27, 1937, and passed December 5, 2022, at home.  Husband to the love of his life, Teresa Dorrance for 61 years.  Father to Sandra Dorrance (David Torres), Eugene (Sheri) Dorrance, Sylvia Dorrance and Ernie Dorrance, Jr.  Grandfather to Justin Dorrance, Ryan (Mejia) Dorrance, Andrea Garcia, Devin Dorrance and Joshua Forristall.  Great Grandfather to Alessia Rae Dorrance.  He is also survived by his loving sisters, Emma James, Dora Martinez and Dorothy (Domingo) Ledezma.

Ernie, was an exceptional man.  His family meant the world to him. He would look forward to family get-togethers, playing his favorite family card game (31), traveling, Dominos, Horseshoes, Basketball and showing off his perfect swimming strokes.  Ernie was an avid bowler winning many trophies over the years. He enjoyed sharing his life stories about family, his service as a Marine and his service in the Navy Reserves.  Ernie worked for Martin Marietta as a Fire Fighter and then worked and retired as a Bus Driver for RTD.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, December 28th at 11:00am at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, CO 80227, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:30am.  A shelter service will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 1:30pm. For those who wish to attend the shelter service, please arrive at Staging Area B no later than 1:15pm. Following the burial, the family would like you to join them to celebrate Ernie at Lakeview Event Center 7864 W. Jewell Avenue, Lakewood 80232, from 2:15-4:15pm.
