Estelle Roslyn Quam

Estelle Roslyn Quam Sept. 14, 1922 – Aug. 23, 2013 Estelle R. Quam, 90, of Boulder, CO and a former longtime resident of Aurora, CO, died Thur. Aug. 23, 2013, at Manor Care in Boulder, CO. Estelle was born on Sept. 14, 1922, in Little Falls, NY to Charles and Teofila (Lesczcenski) Krasko and was one of 16 children. She received her B.S. degree in Elementary Education from Union College in Lincoln, NE and began her teaching career in St. Augustine, Florida. She then moved to Grand Junction, CO, and Lakewood, CO before settling in Aurora, CO, obtaining her Master's degree, and teaching for Aurora Public Schools for 26 years. Her teaching career spanned 46 years. Teaching was her life and she taught and inspired hundreds of children over the course of her career. Estelle married John B. Quam, Sr. on June 19, 1959 in Denver, CO. They divorced in 1982. She was an avid reader and bridge player and she loved to read poetry. She also loved birds and had an extensive collection. Estelle is survived by her daughter, Kim Magana (AJ) and her son John Quam (Laurie) and three grandchildren; Lyndsi, Brett and Kelli Magana. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Estelle's name to the Aurora Public Schools Education Foundation, Educational Services Center Bldg. 1, 15701 E. 1st Ave., #206, Aurora, CO 80011.
