Esther Richardson Burdett went into the presence of the Lord on January 6, 2018, in Cary, North Carolina, at the age of 88. Esther was born on April 21,1929 in Washington DC. After working a registered nurse in Atlanta, Georgia, she became a successful businesswoman, co-owning Sea Pleasures and Treasures in Venice, Florida, with her husband Bill Burdett, whom she married in 1952. They celebrated 60 years of marriage just before his death in 2012. Throughout her life she was a committed Christ follower, contributing in multiple ways to the furthering of His kingdom. She taught Sunday school classes and discipled many women in her employment. She helped found Venice Independent Missions, which educates churches about missions and helps to finance overseas missionaries throughout the world. She was most passionate about the work of Overseas Missionary Fellowship in Southeast Asia, Far East Broadcasting Company, the Bible League, New Tribes Mission, United World Missions, and American Center for Law and Justice. She was also an avid reader and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandson. She is survived by her son David and his wife Cathleen Burdette of Gainesville, Florida, along with their son Byron; by her son Jim and his wife Sue Burdette of Mentor, Ohio, along with their daughter Brooke and her husband Benjamin Burnett of Columbia, MD, and their son Josiah; and by her daughter Aleisa and her husband Curt Carlson of Cary, North Carolina, and their children Nathan and Melanie. Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, January 15, 2018 at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Pavilion “Aâ€, 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard, Denver Colorado.
