Ethyl ""Jeanne"" Bowser

March 31, 1934 — May 20, 2020

Born in Denver, CO to Susan and Lester Galvin, Jeanne was the fifth of six children. Mary Sue Gibbons, Margaret Neumann, Lester Galvin, Michael Galvin and Larry Galvin.

Jeanne graduated from Denver's East High School and attended Colorado A&M (CSU) earning a BA in English in 1955. She was a member of the Tri Delta sorority. After graduating, Jeanne began her teaching career in Scottsdale, AZ then moving to California where she taught middle school English Literature and French in San Francisco and San Mateo. She retired from teaching after 29 years.

Always an avid traveler, Jeanne enjoyed several study sabbaticals in France, and travels to many other parts of the world as well as exploring the US. She and husband, Phil Bowser, particularly enjoyed travels involving a favorite pastime, golf. They were fortunate to visit and play many historical courses as well as newer ""up and coming"" courses. Throughout her retirement, golf and tennis were regular activities enjoyed with Phil and her many friends.

Another of Jeanne's enjoyed activities was the game of bridge. She enjoyed the people she met through playing bridge as much as the game itself.

Throughout her life, visits to Colorado were frequent and always eagerly anticipated by her Colorado family. In 2015, Jeanne moved back to Colorado where she was a treasured participant in the many family gatherings.

Always ready with a smile and a friendly greeting, Jeanne was a fun-loving person, always eager to enjoy the arts and recently create art of her own in her work with drawing.

Jeanne is survived by her sister, Margaret and brother Larry, step-son Bob Bowser, step-daughter Bonnie Ladd, 22 nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and nephews who will remember the ""joie de vivre"" that Jeanne shared with all she encountered.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a funeral Mass will be limited to family. A memorial service and celebration of Jeanne's life will be scheduled later in the summer so that friends and family can join.
