Eugene Hogan

Eugene Sylvester Hogan of Aurora, CO, originally from St. Louis, MO, passed away peacefully of natural causes at age 93, on January 18, 2021.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 61 years, Carol L. Hogan and four children: Thomas Hogan of Aurora, CO, John Hogan of Aurora, CO, Stephen Hogan of Aurora, CO and Catherine Hogan of Albuquerque, NM. Eugene is also survived by his granddaughter, Kaela Buffum Hogan of Aurora, CO; his brother, James Hogan of St. Louis, MO; two nieces, Susan Taylor of Aurora, CO and St. Louis, MO and Carol Wolff of Orlando, FL; and two great-nieces, Sarah Taylor of St. Louis, MO and Abbey Taylor of St. Louis, MO.

Eugene was a graduate of CBC high school in St. Louis, Missouri and St. Louis University in Missouri. Upon his graduation from CBC, Eugene entered the United States Air Force as a 2nd Lieutenant and attained the rank of Major before he retired, after 21 years of service. Following his years of service, Eugene then became a teacher at Aurora Middle School in Aurora, CO for 17 years.

Eugene will always be remembered as a loving husband and father to his family. He will also be remembered fondly by his community, where he started the neighborhood watch program in the Chambers Heights area of Aurora, CO.

He will truly be missed.
