Eugene V. Tagliente

Eugene V. Tagliente, 78, died peacefully surrounded by family on June 27, 2018 in Arvada. He was born and raised in Frederick. He honorably served in the Navy as an airman at the US Naval Ordnance Station, China Lake, CA and the US Naval Reserves until 1963. Gene worked for Dow Chemical at the Rocky Flats Nuclear Weapons Plant during the 1960s. In 1965, he married our mom, n.k.a. Jeanne (Tom) McKeon. They raised their family in Arvada and remained friends. He also worked for the Drapery Supply Company (DSC Fabrics) in sales covering a territory of Colorado, Nebraska, Kansas, and Oklahoma. Gene then worked in the flooring industry beginning with The Carpet Yard (Arvada), Don Felsen, Inc. (Denver and Aurora), and retired from the Carpet Exchange (Arvada and Aurora) in 2014.

Gene was a generous, gregarious man who loved to laugh. He was a proud father and grandfather who treasured his family and friends. He was a passionate and dedicated employee in the workforce for over 50 years.

Gene is preceded in death by his parents John and Madeline; his sisters Emma, Eva, and Elsie Novotny; and his brother Emilio. He is missed by his children Mollie (Mark) Duncklee of Wheat Ridge; John (Rachel) Tagliente of Denver; Nicole (Anthony) Del Vicario of Arvada, and Eva (Bill) Peters of St. Charles, MO; his five grandchildren Katherine, Victoria, Matthew, Sophia and Eliza; his brother, Edward Tagliente of Frederick; his numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and his long-time friend Dawn Hupfer.

Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel 7577 W. 80th Ave, Arvada, CO. A Funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Spirit of Christ Catholic Church 7400 W 80th Ave, Arvada, CO. Followed by Interment at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
