Eunice M. Dorr

Eunice M. Dorr, age 98, passed away on February 28, 2020 at St. Andrew’s Village in Aurora, Colorado. Eunice was born on January 28, 1922 in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, to Alta and George Kemry. She lived in Steamboat Springs for most of her life, graduating from Steamboat Springs High School. She worked for the Routt County Clerk and Recorder office, culminating with 8 years as the elected County Clerk. Eunice was a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary, holding numerous officer positions at the local, regional and state level. Eunice was a servant leader of distinction and the highest integrity for Routt County, but most importantly, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, great aunt and friend. She was a family historian and her cumulative work is available through the Steamboat Springs Tread of Pioneer’s Museum. She was an avid crafter, making beautiful cards with tatted flowers.

Eunice is survived by her son Paul Dorr (Terri) and daughter Kathleen McKune (Robert); her grandchildren: Russell J. “Rusty” McKune (Jennifer), Jeffry B. “Jeff” Dorr (Rachael), and Jamie C. Jackson (Daniel); her great-grandchildren: Nicholas D. McKune, Chase R. McKune, Everett T. Dorr, Emerson Dorr, Charlie J. Jackson and Lucy C. Jackson; her sister Harriet Aspegren, sister-in-law Betty Kemry, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Eunice was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Dorr, great-grandson Blake R. McKune, brother Lewis Kemry, brother-in-law Gene Aspegren and additional brother and sister-in-laws: Edgar Dorr (Catherine), Edith Stenzel (Hiram), Hazel Nelson (Albert), Elmer Dorr (Francis), Michael Dorr (Bernice) and Opal Wood (Bobby).

Services will be held at St. Andrew’s Village; 13801 E. Yale Ave. Aurora, CO 80014 on Friday March 6, 2020 at 10:30am. An additional memorial service will be held in Steamboat Springs on July 27, 2020.
