Eva F. Cole

Eve Cole was born Eva Barbara Ferreira on Nov. 10, 1921 in the small town of Nawiliwli on the island of Kauai in Hawaii. She peacefully passed away on Dec. 5, 2017 in Centennial, CO. Her beloved husband, Dr. Allen V. Cole, preceded her in death in 2009. Eve and Al met in 1945 while his naval ship was anchored in Nawiliwili Harbor, and she was teaching at her former elementary school. Eve and Al were married on Feb. 17, 1946 and enjoyed 63 years of marriage. Fifty-four of those years were spent in Santa Ana, California. Eve loved playing bridge, playing golf, having parties, oil painting, sewing, baking, flower arranging, square dancing, ballroom dancing, and traveling. In 2005, Eve and Al moved to Colorado to be near family. Eve is survived by her daughter Bobbie (Brig) Young, son Jeff (Susan) Cole, and daughter Annette (Jeff) Saavedra; along with three grandchildren: Gary (Liliosa) Cole, Stephanie Robinson, and Stacey Robinson. A Catholic Mass and memorial service for Eve will be held today, Dec. 17 at 1:00 pm at Holly Creek Retirement Community in Centennial. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Aviant Hospice.
