Eva Woods

February 10, 1949 — March 22, 2013

Thornton - Eva Woods, a long-time resident of Thornton, CO., passed Friday, March 22, 2013 in her home from Ovarian and Breast Cancer. Born in 1949 in Kempenburg, Austria, Eva traveled most of Europe with her parents, France and Theresa Petruska, sisters Tessie, Maggie and her brother France. She settled and grew up in Karlskoga, Sweden before moving to the United States where she met and married her husband of 42years, David Woods. Eva spent the most of her later career in security, where she was consistently recognized by her peers and co-workers. She received many recognitions and absolutely loved the people she worked with. Her recent job was with Guardsmark at Lockheed Martin. At home, she loved her grandchildren, cooking, gardening, home improvements and driving her husband nuts. She enjoyed reading, great movies and had a smile that would light up any room. If you came over to visit you would find Eva either in the kitchen or working around one of her many gardens. Other past times she enjoyed with her husband was camping, fishing and bowling. Eva was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who was loved and adored by many. She made her family and everyone around her a better person. She will be deeply missed and her life is most definitely to be celebrated and cherished. Eva is survived by her husband, David; her sister-in-law Kathy; her children Daina and (Marcelino - Son In-Law) Johnny and (Sheena - Daughter In-Law); her grandchildren Tyler, Alex, MJ, little Eva and Haylee; her sisters, Tessie, Maggie and her brother France; and her doggies, Sam and Max and her kitty, Spike. Memorial Service will be held Thursday, March 28, 2013, 12:00pm at Horan and McConaty, 9998 Grant Street, Thornton, CO 80229 followed by a Committal of Cremated Remains at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area C. Officiant - Reverend Nancy Niero, of Namaste Hospice. Reception will be held at Eva's residence after the services. If you would like to bring a dish you are more than welcome to. In lieu of flowers, there has been a memorial fund set up.
