Evan Hamill Carlson was born at Littleton Hospital May 17, 1997 to Gregory A and Diane (Lewellen) Carlson. Greg, Diane and big brother Bryan were happy to introduce Evan to the rest of the family especially his grandparents John L. and Barbara A. Lewellen and Thomas A. Carlson all of Denver, CO; his Grandmother Phyllis E. Carlson was previously deceased. Soon after Evans' first birthday he too became a big brother when John Thomas was born. Evan was a typical young boy growing rapidly while trying to keep up with Bryan and stay ahead of Johnny. The family took many trips and Evan loved being on the beach building sand castles, playing in the ocean, burying people in the sand and chasing the seagulls. Evan especially enjoyed being with his grandparents and helping his grandpa work in the garden. Evan became active in youth sports playing everything he got the chance to including football, basketball, baseball, soccer and hockey. He also enjoyed being in the outdoors camping, hiking and riding dirt bikes with his dad and brothers. As he grew older he became quite the fisherman and enjoyed fishing with his friends and his Grandfather John. In 2004, the family relocated to Boise, Idaho where Evan attended Sacred Heart Catholic School. He continued his love of sports and the outdoors learning how to ski and snowboard while also improving his skating and hockey skills. Evan and his family came back to Littleton, Colorado in the summer of 2008, where Evan returned to St. Mary's of Littleton. After he completed his middle school studies at Euclid he enrolled at Heritage High School where in the early years he participated in baseball and Littleton Hawks Hockey Club . He realized his true passion was football and during his junior year he returned to the football program. Having to work his way up he invested his time training in the weight room, learning the playbook and earning the respect of his coaches and teammates. Evan lettered in varsity football both his junior and senior years after working his way to the starting team. He was pleased of his accomplishments but more proud to be part of beating Arapahoe High School to win the Brookridge trophy and helping the team return to the state playoffs during his senior season. While growing into a young man he became known as ""Comfy Carlson"" to his friends and classmates. Like all high school students he wondered what to do with his life considering options in forestry, agriculture and education. Ultimately he took inspiration from some of his favorite teachers and coaches at Heritage High and throughout his life and determined he wanted return the favor of mentoring young people into adulthood. Evan had been accepted to attend the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado and was looking forward to beginning that phase of his life where his goal was to be a teacher either in Physical Education or History. He was also determined to become a football coach as well where he could share his passion and love of the game. Throughout his life Evan was a curious person always willing to explore new things and adventures in life. He had a deep desire to get his hunter safety card so he could learn to hunt with an ultimate goal of being a bow hunter. He was looking into playing rugby and other new sports at UNC. He and his Dad had purchased a 1970 Ford Bronco which was to be refurbished with a lift kit, oversized tires and decked out with chrome and painted ""Ford Blue"". He enjoyed working in the outdoors and had already determined that when he retired he would have a farm in Fort Lupton. Evan passed away on Saturday July 18, 2015 and is survived by his mother and father Diane L. and Gregory Alan Carlson of Littleton, brothers Bryan Gregory Carlson and John Thomas Carlson of Littleton, Grandparents John L. and Barbara A.
