Evan, 19, of Lafayette, Colorado passed away June 18, 2017. Evan was born in Thornton, Colorado at North Suburban Hospital. Evan attended Centaurus High School and Prairie View High School, graduating from PVHS in 2016. While working on his high school diploma at Prairie View, Evan worked part-time at Papa Murphy's. Evan had a passion for Art and Culture. He would spend the majority of his free time drawing and painting. He took Art classes in and out of school and has had his work displayed at the Boulder Public Library. He took 2nd place in an art show for his piece that he named Picasso's Daughter and was offered $100, which he declined because he wanted his Nana Carol to have it. He loved learning about different cultures, specifically their language. He tried to learn how to say ""Hello"" in as many languages as possible and took Spanish in school. He eventually started taking Sign Language at Centaurus High School and fell in love with it immediately. After transferring to Prairie View High School, he found a weekly group nearby and loved going on Wednesday nights to keep learning the language. He enjoyed coming home from that group to show his little sister Kylee what he had learned and teach her how to sign. He had a gift for words. While attending Angevine Middle School, Evan won the Spelling Bee in 6th and 8th grade, placing 6th in districts in 8th grade. His Dad told him had he competed in 7th grade he'd have had a clean sweep. Evan had a huge heart for people with mental disabilities. Whenever there was a fellow student in school that was disabled, he would be the first to go interact with them and try to make them feel welcome. He never saw them as being different as most people do - to him they were just another person like the rest of us that needed a friend as we all do. Evan placed his trust in Christ as his Savior and was written into the Lamb's Book of Life in 2008. Later that year, he was baptized at Grace Church of Arvada, along with his Dad, step-mom, Tracy and sister, Payge. He is survived by his parents, Joe (Tracy) Moses and Amanda (William) Caldwell; sisters, Taylor Davison, Payge Pennell and Kylee Moses; grandparents, Robert Moses, of Loveland, Colorado and Jack & Carol Davison, of Greene, Ohio; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Evan was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Jacqueline Moses. Viewing will be Friday, June 23, 2017, from 6-8 PM with Funeral Services honoring Evan on Saturday, June 24, 2017, beginning at 10:30 AM, both at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 9998 Grant Street, in Thornton, Colorado 80229.
