Evelyn Delong Taylor

Evelyn Ilene “Lyn” DeLong Taylor was a life long resident of Denver, CO. She is the wife of the late Leo D. Walton, late Robert E.DeLong and the late John Taylor.

She is the loving mother of Kathy (Woody) Mathison and Tom (Diana) Walton. Stepmother to Lance DeLong, Jill (Bob)Taylor, Judi (Ty) Belcher and Jack (Paula) Taylor.

She also is survived by 9 very special grandchildren, Jennifer (Brian) Hardin, Matthew (Holly) Mathison, Cory (Michelle) Mathison, Kristine (Kevin) Runyon., Patrick (Sheila) Walton, Scott (Ashley) Walton, Todd (Brandy) Walton, Nicholas (Melissa) Walton.  Also, 5 step grandchildren, Leonard (Danielle) Quintana and 4 DeLong grandchildren.

She was blessed with 27 precious great grandchildren who were the love of her life in these later years.

She graduated from North High School in Denver and started her career in business jobs shortly after. She became the Marketing Director of Westland Shopping Center in 1960 and retired in 1987. This is where she met our stepfather, Robert De Long. They worked together at Westland for many years. After Papa’s passing, she met an acquaintance of his, John Taylor. They were married for a short time until he passed away.

Lyn was a devoted, loving mother and grandmother. She loved her Italian heritage and was quite the gourmet cook! We have enjoyed many of her recipes over the years. She also loved to dance, read and play cards. She had stories to tell everyone she came in contact with!

She passed away Nov. 5, 2020,  at Lincoln Meadows Senior Center in Parker, CO.

Memorial services are scheduled Monday, November 16, 2020, 9:30 am at Horan McConaty located at 1091 S. Colorado Blvd, Denver 80246. Burial at Crown Hill Cemetary following service.
