Evelyn Hyatt

Evelyn Hyatt peacefully passed from this life on February 23, 2019.

Evelyn was born in Westphalia, KS to Anselm and Philomena (Volz) Roecker on October 21, 1928. She was happily married to the late Olen Hyatt for 53 years. She is survived by sons Steve (Susan) Hyatt, Craig (Kathy) Hyatt and daughter Peggy (Ray) Purvis. She was a loving grandmother to her 10 grandchildren; Heidi Linhardt, Nate Hyatt, Molly McIntyre, Sean Hyatt, Tyler Purvis, Andrew Hyatt, Chad Purvis, Erin Snyder, Alex Hyatt, and Anthony Hyatt. In her later years she enjoyed each of her 24 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Carol Bush of Colorado Springs.

After moving from Kansas to Colorado Springs, Colorado as a child, Evelyn attended and graduated from St. Mary's School. After graduation, she worked for Alexander Film Company where she met her future husband, Olen. They were married in 1950 and resided in Colorado Springs until relocating to Denver in 1958. Evelyn lived in Littleton, Colorado for many years and worked for several schools within the Jefferson County School district as Principal's Secretary until retiring in 1988 with 20 years of service.

People were drawn to Evelyn's warm and witty personality and she was well loved by family and friends alike. She will be dearly missed.

Celebration of the Life of Evelyn will be Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 9:30am, Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd.

Evelyn will be laid to rest with her husband at Fort Logan National Cemetery in a private graveside ceremony.
