Evelyn Laurienti passed away in Denver on April 9, 2021, just four days before her 97th birthday. She was surrounded by the warm embrace of her family.
Evelyn was blessed with an extraordinary life enriched by Anthony (“Skee”), her late husband of 72 years, and their 8 children, 19 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and the many spouses and relatives woven into the family along the way.
An active matriarch, Evelyn was all about living a complete life filled with love and adventure.
When she wasn’t at home enjoying life with her family, sewing, or finding escape in a good book, Evelyn loved to travel and embrace new experiences. On a night out, you might find her gracing a dance floor, hitting her mark on the bowling lanes, or captivating a crowd with her magic touch at a craps table in Vegas and Black Hawk.
Evelyn was a voracious reader and curious spirit, priding herself on staying informed and being ready to discuss the news of the day.
During her nearly 97 years bridging two centuries, Evelyn was a witness to the most consequential world events, seventeen U.S. presidents, and changes in pop culture and fashion.
More important than her wealth of experience and wisdom was the love she shared with her family, from her children and their spouses, all the way to her youngest great-great-grandchildren.
Today, Evelyn’s family and friends celebrate her blessed life, and we find solace in her reunion with her husband Skee, eldest daughter Nina, and parents Victor and Alvira Martinac in eternal paradise.
