Evelyn Sibyl (Jansen) Lynch - Obituary

Evelyn Sibyl Lynch, 90, passed away on November 3, 2018. in her home. She was the widow of Thomas C. Lynch, who died in 2013. Born in Baldwin, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of the Rev. Nicholas Jansen and Dora (DeJong) Jansen, and was the youngest of their six children.

Evelyn attend Baldwin Christian School, and graduated from Baldwin High School in 1945. She continued her education at Bethesda Hospital School of Nursing, and graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1949. On July 28, 1959, she married Thomas Lynch, with whom she had 2 children, Nancy and Susan. She would go on to complete a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from College of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois in 1980. She practiced nursing in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Colorado until her retirement in 1993.

Evelyn enjoyed painting and reading in her free time. She was formerly a member of First Presbyterian Church of Brighton, CO and Treasure Hills Presbyterian Church in Harlingen, Texas. After her retirement in 1993, she and Tom traveled extensively through the United States in their R.V. They moved to San Benito, Texas in 1998. Evelyn returned to Colorado in 2015.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings Grace Hein, Peter Jansen, Gerhard Jansen, Allen Jansen, and Calvin A. Jansen. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Lynch of Highlands Ranch, CO, and Susan Lynch of Coatesville, PA.

Services will be private for the family.
