Born April 8, 1938 in Denver, Colorado
Died June 27th, 2022 in Gilbert, Arizona
Everett “Ev” Knutson was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. Everett attended the University of Denver where he earned a BS in Business Administration in 1960, a Master of Arts in 1971, ad a Doctor of Education in 1974. Everett was a teacher and principal in both Colorado and Arizona.
Everett met his future wife, Mary, at Eisenhower Elementary where they were both teachers. They were married in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1982.
Ev was a kid at heart and was creative, inventive and had a dry sense of humor. He was known for his imaginative, fun and unusual t-shirt collection. He enjoyed creating unique hats to match his t-shirts.
Ev had many hobbies and interest over the years, including woodworking, mechanics, remote control airplanes and drones to name a few. Everett enjoyed teaching kids how to fly remote control planes and drones. He never hesitated to mentor his students and neighborhood children with schoolwork or a science project. Ev was very generous to friends and family.
Everett never met a dog or cat that he didn’t want to bring home! Ev loved all of the precious dogs and cats that he and Mary owned over the years which are too numerous to count. Many of their fur babies were rescue animals.
Ev was a beloved husband, uncle, teacher, mentor and friend who will be missed by all. Everett is preceded in death by his parents Rognar and Edna, and his brother Rognar Jr.
Ev is survived by his wife Mary, his nieces Tammie, Terrie and Tracie, and his four-legged family Evvy, Spice, Sugar and Cuddles.
Friends and family are asked to donate to the Arizona Humane Society in lieu of flowers.
