Ewell Charles Williams

Ewell ""Charlie"" Williams was born on December 31, 1925 to Luther and Nora Williams in Benton, IL. He passed away on December 31, 2007 at the age of 82 He served in the U.S. Army's 97th Infantry Div. 303""rd Anti Tank Co. in WWII. Charlie was a demolitions expert. After the war he returned to Benton where he married his first wife Peggy, there they had two daughters, Barbara and Patricia. He worked in the coal mines in Benton and Taylorville. In 1952 he moved the family to Arvada, Colorado. Charlie worked for P-I-E trucking company for 34 years. He retired in 1984. His second wife Joyce, of 34 years, enjoyed traveling in their motor home to Arizona. They loved to bowl and play card games with friends and family. Charlie is survived by his wife Joyce; two daughters: Barbara and her husband Lonnie Edwards of Greeley, CO and Patricia and her husband Jeff Byers of Thornton, CO; Four Grandsons: Glen and his wife Yosette Byers of Firestone, CO; Jeffrey and his wife Mindy Byers of Commerce City, CO; Sam and his wife Kathryn Musgrave of Trabuco Canyon, CA; and Scott and his wife Shari Edwards of Rifle, CO, also survived by 14 Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by three brothers: Edward, Malcom and Martin Williams; Two sisters: Lena Massey and Geneva Pemberton, and by both of his parents. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, January 8th at 2pm at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 9998 Grant Street, Thornton, CO. Please share condolences at www.HoranCares.com.
