F.P. ""BUDD"" Spratlen, III passed away December 17, 2009 in Scottsdale, Arizona, where he has spent his winters for many years. He is survived by his wife, Therese, ""Terry""; sons, Chip, Robert, David; his daughter Laura Dee, four grand children and five great grandchildren. Budd was born April 6, 1925, served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, attended Colorado College, the University of Colo. and then received a B.A. from the University of Denver. He was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity. Budd was CEO and President of Ready Mixed Concrete, Best Block, Ready Mixed Aggregate, and Spratlen Motor Co. He previously owned the Cattlemen's Inn, Skyways Motel, Sprat-Platte Ranch and Budd Partners. He was formerly a director of National Ready Mixed Concrete Association, President of Colorado Ready Mixed Concrete Association, a member of Denver Country Club, Arizona Biltmore Country Club, Denver Athletic Club, Arlberg Club, and the Young Presidents Club. At the time of his death he was a member of the U.S.A.F. 100 Club, University Club, Denver Press Club, Cattlemen's Club, South Denver Masonic Lodge #93, and Rocky Mountain Consistory #2. He established the Spratlen Family Lounge in the Leprino Atrium of the Denver Museum of Nature and Science and founded scholarships in Daniels Business College at University of Denver.
