Faithy Eileen Howard, age 78, passed away in her home in Centennial, CO on May 4, 2021. She was surrounded by those who loved her best. She was born in Kilgore, Texas on February 18, 1943. She graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1960 and attended Baylor University. In 1959, she met her future husband while he was attending Kemper Military School in Boonville, Missouri. They wed on March 27, 1965 in Longview, Texas. In 1969, after Tracy’s service in the United States Marine Corps, they settled in Denver, Colorado where they began raising their family. After raising their three daughters, she began a 20-year career as a document processing manager for Marsh & McLennan Insurance Services Corporation. Faithy was very involved in the activities that her daughters pursued while growing up including Girl Scouts, Pioneer Girls, soccer, swim team and numerous school activites. She had mad crocheting skills, dabbled in skiing and was known to make the best chicken fried steak west of Kilgore, Texas.
Faithy is survived by her husband, Tracy, her daughters Krista Taylor (Steve), Shelley Howard, and Brooke Dunn (Dan), and her four grandchildren Tasha, Reid, Finn and Madison. She is also survived by her brothers Homer D. and Charles I. Wood, and their wives and children. She was preceded in death by her parents Jacob H. and Dorothy L. Wood, and her brother Robert L. Wood.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Horan & McConaty in Centennial, Colorado on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 1:00 pm. A reception will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Faithy’s name to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (https://www.aspca.org/).
