Father Gabriel M. Weber, O.S.M.

Fr. Gabriel M. Weber, O.S.M., a solemn professed friar and priest of the Order of Friar Servants of Mary (Servites) - United States of America Province, died Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Sandalwood Manor Nursing Home in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. He was 92 years of age and a priest for 66 years. Fr. Weber was born August 13, 1923 in Buffalo, New York, the son of the late Andrew and Mary Rose (Stoessel) Weber. He attended St. Clare's Elementary School, Portland, Oregon, and Columbia Prep High School, Portland, Oregon, graduating in 1941. He entered the Order of Friar Servants of Mary (Servites) on September 6, 1942 and was ordained a priest on May 15, 1949. His assignments include: Instructor, Mater Dolorosa Seminary, Hillside, IL (1949 - 1951); Parochial Vicar, St. John Berchmans Parish, Detroit, MI (1951 - 1956); Parochial Vicar, Annunciata Parish, Chicago, IL (1956 - 1961); Chaplain U.S. Air Force (1961 - 1964); Pastor, St. Philip Benizi Parish, Fullerton, CA 1964 - 1966); Parochial Vicar, Mount Carmel Parish, Denver, CO (1966 - 1967) (1988 - 1994) (1997 - 1998) and (1999 - 2003); Instructor Mount Carmel High School, Denver, (1967 - 1967); Staff, Sanctuary of Our Sorrowful Mother, Portland, OR (1968 - 1971) and (1980 -1988); Parochial Vicare, Our Lady of Belen Parish, Belen, NM (1972 - 1974); Pastor, Mount Carmelt Parish, Denver, (1974-1976); Pastor, Assumption Parish, Denver (1976 - 1979) Parochial Vicar, St. Anthony Parish, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada (1994 - 1995); Parochial Vicar, St. Philip Benzi Parish, Fullerton, CA (1995 - 1997); Administrator, St. John Neumann Parish, Yuma, AZ (1998 - 1999). He retired in 2003 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Priory, Denver CO where he remained until 2016. He is the brother of Edward (Judy) and the late Joseph (Juliana), Charles, James (Loretta), Robert (Marsha), Marie (Ed) and Sr. Rose Ann Weber, B.V.M. and many cousins, nephews and nieces.
