Felix Lanier Hughes

December 11, 1979 — June 16, 2019

Felix Lanier Hughes was born December 11, 1979 in Denver, Colorado to William Marshall Hughes and Audrey Faye Poindexter. He grew up in the Montbello neighborhood and attended Oakland and Mcglone elementary schools of the Denver public school system until he was 13 at which time the family moved to Aurora and he began school at West middle school and finished at Central high school with the class of 1998.

Upon graduation, Felix settled into the field’s of customer service and collections working for companies such as telecheck, Nextel (now sprint), and his current employer, Santander consumer. Felix grew up with a love for music and had the drive and determination to purchase his own equipment using the tips he made as a vendor for aramark working Rockies games at 16 when he bought his first stereo set and was given his first audio mixer by Jeremy Dennis until he was able to buy his own. As the years passed the CD collection grew and the equipment better and with the advent of the CD recorder he and his brother John went half on a karmon hardon cdr20 for $500 from best buy, from then he made cds for people. Along with music, he spent time with family on guy trips, at gatherings, camping trips and cruises.

Along with his love for music, family and travel, Felix was also in tune with himself as a black man hence the Egyptian cross the ankh and the eye or Horus necklaces that he adorned. It wasn’t surprising to get a few texts with YouTube links to videos that show black history on a whole different level, he wasn’t shy of spreading the knowledge to keep us woke.

Although he never married, Felix is survived by his daughter DeAujannai Jordan (19) of Denver, mother Audrey Hughes of Denver, brothers John Hughes, William Marshall Hughes II, Jeffrey Hughes, Michael Hughes, Jimmy Calhoun, Stephen Clark (nephew), Damian Clark (nephew), Derrick Gholston (nephew), sisters Andrea Clark, Juanita Finley, Alison Steele, Stephanie Hughes (Baltimore), Sheila Hughes and a slew of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
