Felix Martinez

Félix Martinez (97) passed away surrounded by loved ones on June 12th. Felix was born in Phoenix, Arizona in 1925.  He married the love of his life Eva and was happily married 66 years till her passing. He raised his children Peggy and Tippy with Eva in La Junta Colorado before moving the family to Denver.

Felix loved to go to games, bowl, golf, WWE, play cards, and gamble. Felix attended his children’s and grand children’s games. Eva and Felix would frequent bingo halls from Aurora to Wyoming and even Vegas. You could also catch them up the hill in Blackhawk. Felix would be playing cards or penny slots. Felix was a fierce competitor. No matter what he was playing he wanted to win. He taught that to his children and grandchildren. 

Felix loved his family very much. He was very proud of each of them. Felix went from being born in a field, to raising a Teacher and Professional Baseball player. To his grandchildren being Doctors, broadcasters, and entrepreneurs. Even with all that he was a humble and sweet man who will be missed greatly by all. 

Felix is survived by his daughter Peggy, son Tippy, grandchildren Isaiah, Jacen, Courtney, and Kelli, great grandchildren Casey Jo, Tyler, Ryan, Acacia, Jacinda, Victor, Callista, Caden, Elijah and Tony. 

Felix celebration of life will be held at Horan and McConaty July 1st, 2023, 2pm 11150 East Dartmouth Avenue, Aurora CO. 80014 on the corner of Parker Road and Dartmouth.
