Ferdinand Peter Schmitz, Jr.

Ferdinand Peter Schmitz, Jr., 84, died peacefully surrounded by his wife and children on Nov. 11, 2004. Beloved husband and father, Ferd was born on June 6, 1920 in Purcell, Kansas. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jeanne, two sons, Fr. Bernard Schmitz of Greeley and Jerry (Sherri) Schmitz of Great Falls, Montana; five daughters, Peg Schmitz of Denver, Patrice (Wayne) Walker of Olathe, Kansas; Mary Jo (Jim) Ingalie of Eagle River, Alaska; Denise (Rick) Maddelena of Truckee, Californai; Jeanne (John) Schroeder of Colby, Kansas; 19 grandchildren, brother John of Iowa, sisters Elizabeth Sirridge of Kansas and Patrice Hall of Missouri as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Ferd's parents and his brother Bernard and sisters, Margaret Carr and Mary Ann Mikoloi preceded him in death. Visitation is Monday, Nov. 15 from 10 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and the Rosary follows at 7:00 p.m. at Horan and McConaty Family Chapel, 3201 S. Parker Rd., Aurora, Colorado. Mass of the Resurrection is Tuesday, 10 a.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church, 1243 Kingston Street, Aurora, Colorado. Interment is Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver.
