Florence ""Jane"" Pierce

Florence Jane Pierce (""Jane"") passed away on March 4th, 2020. Jane was the youngest of five children in her family. She was a Certified Public Accountant and started the first all-female accounting firm in Colorado. Prior to her career as a CPA, she was the Chief Clerk of the Bankruptcy Court. She attended the University of Colorado, where she met the love of her life and they spent 69 wonderful years together happily married. After she retired, she enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling within the US and to Europe with her husband. Before her husband passed away, she devoted her life to helping him through his long battle with Alzheimer's. Jane enjoyed watching professional tennis and was an avid Broncos fan. She continued to read the sports section of the newspaper every day using her magnifying glass.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Judge Charles D. Pierce. Jane is survived by their three children Kathryn Thompson (Mike Thompson), Cynthia Phillips (Mike Phillips) and John Pierce (Sheri Pierce). She was the Grandmother of Sarah Phillips, Steven Phillips, Brendon Thompson and Jamie Pierce. Jane was also the Great-Grandmother of Stella Phillips.

Jane Pierce had a strong, independent will that she presented with compassionate grace and deep, genuine love towards her family and friends. She truly cared about the world and inclusion of all people. She was a guiding role model and a beloved matriarch. Her undying dedication to her husband and her whole family was what made her soul so special. Jane lived and loved with all her heart and her legacy will live on through her descendants.

The family will have a private memorial service to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Rocky Mountain Down Syndrome Association or the charity of your choice.
