Florentine Cronin born October 28, 1917, died November 2, 2011. She went to Saint Elizabeth Grade School and Saint Joseph High School. She worked at Merchants Biscuit Company and Great Western Sugar Company. She was active in parish work at St. Elizabeth Church, St. Joseph Church, St. Catherine Church, Notre Dame and Regis Mothers Club. She married Dan Cronin February 13, 1945. Dan retired as Fire Chief of Denver and afterwards worked as Manager of Safety for Denver. During World War II he joined the army, landed in Normandy on Omaha Beach on D-Day and was injured when he stepped on a land mine. After the war, he returned to the Fire Department. He died December, 1998. She had three sons, Dan, Ned, and Frank, two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, all of Denver. One sister, Doris Knopke, lives in Denver. She also had numerous nieces and nephews. A Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2011 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 South Wadsworth Boulevard, Lakewood, Colorado 80227. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, November 7, 2011, 10:00 AM at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 2190 South Sheridan Boulevard, Denver, Colorado 80219. Interment to follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 12801 West 44th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, Colorado 80033.
