Frances Elouise Maroski loved cats, clam chowder, and caramels at Christmas. Her most recent cat, Tiny, helped Frances recover from a fall as she was determined to return home to be with Tiny. Her wish came true. Frances was lovingly known as Fran or Francie to coworkers and friends.
Frances was born on September 14, 1943, to Oliver Francis Warfield and Marvine Elouise Christensen. At the time of her birth, they lived in Alamosa, Colorado, and she was blessed to share both of their names. Frances enjoyed the country life riding horses, camping, and adventures with cousins.
The family moved to Boulder, Colorado during Frances’ school years. She graduated from Fairview High School in Boulder, Colorado, in May of 1961. Upon graduation she continued her education, learning bookkeeping and working at National State Bank. Francie was introduced to nursing and decided that was her passion. She enrolled in nursing school at Mesa College in Grand Junction, Colorado, and graduated beginning her life-long career as a Registered Nurse.
On June 7, 1980, Frances married Richard Edmund Maroski in Boulder, Colorado. They relocated to Phoenix, Arizona; and, in addition to working as a nurse and overseeing a trauma unit, Frances began a cat and horse rescue program. At one time she cared for over 50 cats. In 1993, after Richard’s passing, Frances moved back to Colorado to care for her parents. She continued to work as a Registered Nurse at Longmont United Hospital in the Intensive Care Unit until her retirement in 2015.
Francie enjoyed going to both the Stamps and Knight family reunions and celebrating the 24th of July in Manassa, Colorado, seeing Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. Her cousins treated her like a sister, and she was thrilled to be “adopted” into the clan.
Frances is preceded in death by her parents, Oliver Francis Warfield and Marvine Elouise Christensen and twin brothers, David and Daniel. The twins died shortly after delivery. She is survived by her brother Robert Warfield (Judy) and their children, Michelle and Ryan, and grandchildren, Brandon and Kylie.
Frances is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was extremely creative and enjoyed doing crafts, painting, sewing, knitting and crocheting. Frances is a beautiful soul who was always caring for others more than herself. She left this world on November 11, 2024. Her smile, helping hand, and huge heart will be missed.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 2200 11th Avenue, Longmont, Colorado, 80501 and broadcast using link: https://zoom.us/j/98350936512. A visitation prior to the service at 10:30 a.m. is scheduled.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Longmont Humane Society (Longmonthumane.org) in Frances’ name is requested. Interment will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.
