Frances Phyllis Regner passed away peacefully at the Clermont Residence Community on February 28, 2023 at the age of 97.
She was born in Aberdeen, South Dakota to Barney and Helen Casper on April 3rd, 1925.
She moved to Madison, Wisconsin with her family for her senior year of high school. After graduation, her first job was as secretary to the Dean of Students at the University of Wisconsin. She was active in the Young Adult Club at Truex Field, where she helped make it a welcoming place for World War II troops. In 1947 she moved to Denver, CO, and worked at General Electric where she met and married her husband of 52 years. A career move took the family to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1959. She was busy raising four children and became active in her church, scouting, and making lifelong friends. Another career move brought the family back to Denver in 1970. Her passion was working in the endowment department at the Denver Botanic Gardens where she retired at age 69. Her love for the Botanic Gardens kept her volunteering at the gardens for 35years. At age 72 she started volunteering for Adult Learning Source.
She was a long-time parishioner and volunteer at Most Precious Blood Church working in the church food bank & the “Family to Family” program. Frances loved spending time with family and friends, cooking, baking, reading, traveling, and learning. She was always up for an adventure.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband John, parents Barney and Helen, her younger brothers, Duane, George, and Richard (Dick).
Frances is survived by her children, Linda Sears, Debra Passanante, Michael (Marjee) Regner, Carol (John) Kingsley; grandchildren, Michael, Anna (Ryan), Shannon, Austin (Samanthia) & Dylan (Emily); great grandchildren Morgan, Taylor, Rowan, Lucy, Lyla, Rose, Lilian, Sage & Skyler, Jackson and Jillian, along with numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends. The family wishes to thank the wonderful, loving, and caring staff at Clermont Park for making Mom comfortable during the years she lived in the community. We also wish to thank Denver Hospice, especially Violetta, for the care and family support provided for the past year.
