Frances Grosso Olbright was the last of the North Denver Grosso Girls and last standing in her generation. She passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at 2:00 am 15 days short of turning 91 on December 5th. She died at home in Denver with her loving family. Frances was born on December 5, 1924 in North Denver. She was the youngest of Rose Grosso 's four daughters, Marie, Lorraine and Sarah who all graduated from North Denver High School. The daughters of Rose were third generation Italians. Frances's grandparents, Serafina and Frank Grosso were pioneer residents of North Denver coming to Denver from Calabria Italy. Serafina was known as ""The Mother of the Italian Colony"" in North Denver and Frank had an Italian grocery store at 34th & Osage. The Grosso building became the popular Little Pepina's Italian Restaurant run by Rose's sister, Josephine Grosso. Frances married Edward Olbright in 1951 in Denver Co and had three children, Kathy, E.J. and Greg Olbright. She has 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Of Frances's three sisters, she has two nieces, and one nephew. Frances was an avid bowler and golfer. She was an ""Auntie Mame"" who enjoyed life and people. Viewing, Friday, 9:30-10 am, with a Funeral Mass to follow at 10 am. Services held at Horan & McConaty Family 1091 S. Colorado Blvd,. Interment will follow service at Fairmont Cemetery.
