Francis A. Canham

June 13, 1948 — February 4, 2015

Francis (Frank) Canham dear to many relatives and friends died recently at his home in Denver. His friendship, volunteerism, deep Catholic faith, dry humor and smile will be missed. He was preceded in death by his father-Ed, sister-Kathy, and survived by mother-Prue, brothers-Mike and Bill, and sisters-Mary, Michele, and Melissa. Survived also by Canham Cousins: Chuck, Shirley, Susan, Rody, George Jr., Mary Rose. Bertolin Cousins: Jane, Mark, Louise, Brett, Hugh, Gordon. Nephews and nieces: Steve, Lara, Atticus, Aneurin, Jane, Kathleen. Will Ross has been more than a brother. His namesake 1st Lieutenant Francis A. CANHAM of the 101st Airborne Division, 321st Glider Group died during the Battle of the Bulge outside Bastogne on December 20, 1944; ""NUTS""! His family at large, the Saint Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church parish for the past 30+ years, was very dear to him, and he served cheerfully in many roles. These included hospitality committee, extraordinary minister, finance council, and nominated to be Godfather to several children. Church members stated that he would drive them to medical appointments if asked. He was loyal to the poor and homeless cared for by the Samaritan House in Denver where he volunteered weekly for >30 years. He helped wherever needed, but mostly food and dining services. He was active in many clubs and organizations, and had an active social life with friends enjoying good wine and food, but never forgetting his family for special events. In his youth he was active in Scouting, church youth groups, and Civil Air Patrol; he graduated from Aurora Central High School in 1966, graduated from CSU with degrees in Chemistry and Accounting in 1970. While at CSU he met some fabulous ""brothers"" in his service fraternity, who have remained lifelong friends. He worked for the Coors Brewery, and most recently for TJM Accounting in Denver. He was an enthusiastic Bronco fan owning season tickets for many years and attending two Super Bowls. The Rockies' games were a favorite pastime with out of town visitors and brothers. He enjoyed traveling and visiting his far and wide friends and relatives; he took his mom to Hong Kong to visit his brother Bill's family. He will be missed by many!
