Francis ""Frank"" Makowski

Francis "Frank" Makowski, 93, of Lakewood, Colorado passed away on October 25, 2019 at Sandalwood Manor surrounded by his loving family. Born on October 17, 1926 in Denver, Colorado, son to the late Frank and Lilian Makowski. Frank married Irene Makowski and together they shared 70 years of marriage.

Frank Makowski was a selfless man. He dedicated his life to his wife Irene for over 70 years, his family and friends, his country and his faith. Frank chose a life not only to help and be there for everyone but continued these values by serving in the Navy during World War II and continued with a career as a proud firefighter. There was almost no day that he wouldn't spend reminiscing and sharing his stories as a Navy man and Firefighter. Everyone always enjoyed hearing his stories, even though we may have heard them before. He just couldn't stop giving and was passionate and proud about his choices in life. As a husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and uncle, he was a hard worker and shared his successes. He not only supported us in every way so that we would have as many opportunities as possible, but he guided us without imposing any particular belief he may have had. He allowed us to be who we were and put a footprint in our lives in living a good life.

Frank will always be loved and dearly missed. He will be in our hearts forever.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Lillian Makowski; son, Lawrence "Larry" Makowski; sister, Evelyn Freehling; nephew, Richard Freehling

Frank is survived by his wife Irene Makowski; daughter, Lynette Makowski (Jim Koehler); grandchildren, Nichol Makowski-Mondragon (Jesse), Frank Makowski (Ashley); great-grandchildren, Jordan Makowski, Madison Makowski, and Jaxson Makowski; nephew, Ralph Freehling.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday November 5, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady Of Fatima 1985 Miller Street, Lakewood, Colorado 80215. The family invites everyone to join them for a reception immediately following the service at Our Lady Of Fatima. The Internment will take place at 2:00 PM at Fort Logan National Cemetery 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard Denver, Colorado 80235.
