Francisco David Sabichi, 93, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2021.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Magdelyn S. Sabichi, and is survived by adoring daughters, Anita Sabichi (Felipe Samaniego) and Lisa Sabichi Jochem (Wayne Jochem).
Francisco proudly served in the US Navy as a medic in WWII. After attending Pomona College in Claremont, CA and University of Colorado in Denver, CO, he graduated with a BA from University of Denver. He subsequently earned an MBA in Hospital Administration from University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. His subsequent years in hospital administration included executive positions at The Children’s Memorial Hospital, Chicago, IL, Children’s Hospital in Denver, Penrose Community Hospital in Colorado Springs, Beth Israel Hospital in Denver CO, and President of Health High, Inc. Throughout his professional career, he served in leadership roles of numerous professional Boards of Directors, Boards of Trustees, Associations, and organizations including Colorado Hospital Association and Denver Girls, Inc. He was a dedicated member of Rotary International for nearly 35 years, which included work in Nepal, and he was awarded an honorary membership upon retirement from his service in 2015.
Francisco was a lover of music, the arts and an avid hiker; with his wife, he successfully summitted all 54 of Colorado’s 14,000-foot peaks.
Francisco moved to Clermont Park Retirement community in February 2013. He became an integral part of the community, where the enriching environment and treasured friendships that he developed fostered his personal and spiritual growth. He was honored to serve on Clermont Park Spiritual Affairs Committee, Finance Committee, and especially close to his heart, the Scholarship Committee, which benefits Christian Living Community’s dedicated employees.
Francisco remained involved and engaged in a healthy and active lifestyle until the short illness preceding his death. He will be remembered for always keeping a positive attitude and greeting those he knew by name with a smile and “2 thumbs up”. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
