Francis Samuel Walsh, age 87, of Erie, CO passed away peacefully on June 24th, 2022.
Frank was Born on July 8th, 1934 in Denver, CO to John & Jeanette Walsh. At a young age Frank helped in the family business operating the concession stands at Elitch Gardens, the National Western Stock Show & Cheyenne Frontier Days. As a kid, Frank loved riding his bicycle around Denver and was the batboy for the Denver Bears baseball team. Through grade school & through high school, Frank was an altar boy at the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. As he got older, he attended Cathedral High School where during his sophomore year he met the love of his life, Donna. Frank served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1954-1957 and married Donna in 1955. During their wonderful 67 year marriage, Frank was an exemplary husband & father and a loving grandfather & great grandfather. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world. Frank adored his dog Molly and loved raising pigeons. He and the family spent summers on Soda Lakes where he was the water ski dad to all. His favorite place was Grand Lake enjoying priceless time on his boat with family & friends.
Frank is survived by his wife Donna, children: Laurie Scott (John Scott), Pat Walsh (Lisa Walsh), Lisa Wade (Tim Wade), grandchildren: Bob Walsh (Jessica Kohler), Lauren Walsh (Ryan Romero), Chelsea Somerville (Caleb Somerville), Lexi Hasenack (Mike Hasenack) & Madison Wade. Great grandchildren, Celia & Abbey Walsh & Paisley Somerville. Frank is preceded in death by his parents John & Jeanette Walsh & son, John Walsh (surviving Wife Linda Tyler).
Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home; 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd. Lakewood, CO. 80227. Recitation of the Rosary will be from 9:30-10:00, Viewing from 10:00-11:00, Funeral Mass from 11:00-12:00, Reception from 12:00-1:00, and the Graveside service will be at 2:00 at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.
