Frank K. Bench

Frank K. Bench, 79, passed away on Friday, 9 January 2015, in Henderson, Colorado after a prolonged illness. Frank was born on November 30, 1935 in Logan, Utah to Kenneth and Milli Call Bench. He married Eleanore (Ellie) Petersen on February 21, 1957 in the Logan temple. Frank graduated from Utah State University in May 1959 in metallurgical engineering. He worked for various aerospace companies as a metallurgical/quality engineer for over 35 years and retired from Rocky Flats in 1994. Frank was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a ward and stake clerk for many years. Ellie and Frank served as missionaries in the Denver, Colorado mission from 2004 to 2005 and then in the Denver Colorado temple. He had a great love for genealogy work and spent much of his free time researching his ancestry. Frank generously shared his time and talents in serving his family, friends, and community throughout his life. Frank is survived by one Son, Jason Bench (Pam) of Thornton, CO; one daughter-in-law Gail Bench of Superior, CO; and three daughters Louise Henrie (Vaughn) of Pleasant View, UT; Dedrea Galbraith (Orvin) of Pleasant View, UT; and Allison Reynolds (Brent) of Henderson, NV. Frank and Ellie have nineteen grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his oldest son Martin Bench of Superior, CO; Parents: Kenneth and Milli Bench; Sisters Lurlene Anderson and Coral Liljenquist. Graveside services only will be held on Thursday, 15 January a.m. at the Louisville Cemetery. Family and friends may call at a viewing Wednesday evening, 14 January, from 6 to 8 p.m., and Thursday morning, 15 January, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Horan & McConaty Funeral Home - 9998 Grant Street, Thornton, CO. Family prayer will immediately follow the viewing. Procession will then travel to the Lewisville Cemetery for graveside services. Frank will be greatly missed by his family.
