Frank Louis Black, age 87, died in Westminster on May 21, 2022, after losing his battle with dementia.
He was a truck driver most of his career, working independently with his own truck, and for Associated Grocers, US Express and Legacy Trucking, where he retired in 2009. In his free time, he enjoyed going camping, hunting, and fishing with his sons and grandsons. He and Janet would often go to Blackhawk for gambling, as well as taking vacation to Arkansas each year to visit Janet’s sisters.
Frank is survived by his brother, Luther W. Black Jr., four children, Russell (Naomi), Randy (Sue), Cheryl, Diane, four stepchildren, Lance (Anita), Bill, Alvin, Channa (Colby), 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jacqueline Black (Douglas), his second wife, Janet Black (Kuntz), his parents, Luther and Sue Black, and his brother, Robert Black.
Funeral services will take place on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at Horan & McConaty (7577 W. 80th Ave., Arvada). A viewing will be held from 9:30-12 pm, the funeral service will begin at 12 pm with a reception immediately following. A burial will follow at 3 pm at Crown Hill Cemetery (7777 W. 29th Ave., Lakewood), a precession will go from the funeral home to the cemetery.
