Senior Master Sergeant Frank Dominguez, Jr. born in Jerome, Arizona, led a distinguished career of 23 years in the United States Air Force and 22 years in Civil Service at the United States Post Office., died on August 7, 2023.
Frank grew up the youngest of 5 children, raised by their single mother, Paula Terrazas Dominguez, in Las Cruces, New Mexico. At the age of 17, in July 1951, he enlisted in the USAF. During his military career, Frank served in Vietnam (1967) where he was exposed to Agent Orange, a poison used to eliminate jungle foliage. Agent Orange caused Frank severe medical problems, which ultimately claimed his life.
Frank also served in the Korean Conflict and throughout his career received medals of distinction.
Frank met the love of his life, Cynthia Lopez, in 1958 in Denver, Colorado. Frank and Cynthia had 5 children during their 45 years of marriage. Frank will be remembered for his stories, his humor, his easy smile, loving heart, and generous ways. Frank’s values were rooted in his faith, family, and country.
Frank was preceded in death by his mother, Paula Terrazas Dominguez; his 3 older brothers, Oscar, Robert and Antonio Dominguez, as well as his beautiful wife, Cynthia J. Dominguez. He is survived by his sister, Natalia Maese of Las Cruces, NM; his five children: Christine (Scott) McCalvy of Frederick, CO, David (Tamara) Dominguez of Glenview, IL, Francis (Thanyarat) Dominguez of Bangkok, Thailand, Marina Dominguez of Denver, CO, and Heidi Dominguez of Arvada, CO; 11 grandchildren: Joshua Ackley, Cassandra (Michael) Foos, Zachary (Jessica) Ackley, Marisa Dominguez, Anthony J Dominguez, Cynthia (Marco) Curtis, Maya Dominguez, Boden Dominguez, Melina Dominguez, Dominick Dominguez, and Emma Dominguez; 4 great-grandsons: Bryson and Jace Foos, Elias and Hugh Dominguez; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Tuesday, August 29th, 2023 at Spirit of Christ Catholic Church, followed by burial at Fort Logan National Cemetery with full military honors. If you will be joining the family for the Graveside Service at Fort Logan, please be in your vehicle with your headlights and hazard lights on by 12:50pm. We will leave from the Church at 1:00pm.
