On October 8, 1935, Franklin LeRoy deFluiter (Lee) was born to Clark and Ruth deFluiter. Lee grew up in Gallion, Ohio. Lee had two brothers, David and Gerald, and a sister Carol (deFluiter) Hollar. Lee met his future wife, Joan Kowalski, at Adelphian Academy. They were married on December 30, 1956.

Lee loved animals. He and Joan had dogs most of their married life. He loved feeding the birds with numerous feeders so he could watch them from the kitchen window. He loved camping. He was never happier than when he could take his Jeep on some mountain trail. He and Joan traveled over much of the US in their motor home. 

Lee passed away on January 1, 2025. 

Lee is preceded in death by his parents Clark and Ruth deFluiter. He is survived by two children, Larry deFluiter and Susan (deFluiter) Barton; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Lee’s memorial service will be Saturday February 8, 2025, at 4pm at the Franktown, Seventh-day Adventist church in Franktown, Colorado.
