Franklin Paul Lyons

January 5, 1952 — May 6, 2017

It is with great sadness that the family of Franklin Paul Lyons announces his passing on Saturday, May 6, 2017, at the age of 65. Frank was born in Middletown, Ohio. In the mid 1950's, he and his family relocated to Lakewood, Colorado. He attended Lakewood High School from 1968 to 1971 and participated in both football and track receiving numerous awards. He later attended the University of Northern Colorado and received his B.A. in Secondary Physical Education. Soon after college, Frank married Nancy whereby beginning their 41-year life together. He worked as a machinist for several years as well as a trimmer in the construction industry. During that time, for nearly twenty years, Frank volunteered as a coach for both Little League Football in Arvada, and as a baseball coach for the Columbine Sports Association. Frank truly loved the outdoors…especially the mountains. He loved fishing, NASCAR, drag racing, stock car racing, and of course his favorite car, the Mustang. He is survived by his wife, Nancy, their two sons, Scott and Sean (Carmen), four grandchildren, two sisters, and numerous extended family members and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the Horan and McConaty Funeral Home, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, Colorado.
