Fred Alderman was born November 1, 1944 in Coffeyville, Kansas. He passed away from pancreatic cancer on October 23, 2009. Survived by his wife, Georgia Hart, son Edward Alderman, daughters Laura Monthathong and Molly Ferrer, sisters Jean Dome and Ann Burkhart and brother Dr. Joe Alderman. Fred held two degrees; a BA in history from CSU and a BA in social work from Metro State. He served as an Army Captain in the Vietnam war and retired from the Colorado National Guard. A longtime social worker with the State of Colorado's division of childcare, Fred retired in 2003. He enjoyed volunteering for the USO at DIA, traveling with this wife, and playing with his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his kindness, consideration, and the support and strength he gave to others. He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, November 1, 2009 at 4:30 PM at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 2700 S. Downing Street, Denver. Private burial for family will take place with full military honors at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
